Released in 1960 ,this Joy Mukherjee starrer is an unmistakable tribute to the romantic
appeal of Shimla. The song 'Dil tham chale' was shot in the Kalka - Simla train .
The scene depicting the search for Rancho,the lead charecter of this Aamir Khan blockbuster was shot at the Shimla Mall Road.

In Jab We Met the song 'Aaoge jab tum' was filmed in Shimla.
Also the train scenes between the charecters Geet and Aditya were shot here.
Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini's movie 'Kudrat' was shot around this scenic hill station.
This Rajesh Khanna,Sharmila Tagore and Rakhi starrer was also shot in this city.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha
the convent school shown is in reality the famous Bishop Cotton's school of the town.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali shot 'Black' in Shimla during the winter month of January to show snow in the backdrop.
However, that year there was no snowfall at the time of the shoot.So eventually , though the
shooting took place at Shimla ,artificial snow with the help of salt was used !
